It's interesting that she had two living brothers named John Matheson, 1 b.1861, 1 b.1862, and they both married an produced children. that caused some confusion and glitches in my efforts. Donald MacDonald and his two brothers-John and Dougald, came to Nova Scotia early 1800's from Moidart, Iverness-shire. Donald was married to Sarah MacAdams, daughter of Hugh MacAdams. Looking for information regarding the McDougall family in Quebec. Great Grandfather was Henry L. McDougall born in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada in 1860. He emigrated to the US in 1879. According to death certificate, his parents were Jno (does this stan for John?) McDougall and Janet Loch (could be Lock). Both Jno and Janet were born in Scotland. Can anyone lead me in the correct direction to find information about this family? This is my first experience researching in Canada and so I am a bit lost. ny help would be greatly appreciate.

Looks good - I have a little more information on some of the people that I have on my lineage. I have a few parents that I may not have sent to you. Some of the information on a few people does not match. I am sure that Donald Gillies that was married to Isabella Mary Morrison was born on October 17, not the month you stated. We aare pretty confident about this because my mother was born October 16, at 11:55. They were trying to stretch it out so she would have the same birthday as her grandfather. nyway, I guess I will have to look into that. My grandfather William George MacLeod had a farm in Canterbury where my mother Margaret Anne Down (nee MacLeod) grew up. I have read Duncan MacLeod's book, he is my grandfathers cousin. I'm surprised, and it's nice work done. I start my project concerning the clan of Skene but it could be interesting to have a site looking as you did. I'm not a person who like to copy but it's look like you work hard. By the way, as you will understand my mother tongue is French so my English writing can suffer a bit. We all know the Scots came after 1760 but with the first notes that I read, it's look like the Scots left their country by a kind of cycle of 100 years. Have traced Mcleod back to Isle of Lewis 1840's Harrison's back to 1851 through census and relatives, one aunt, sister to my father helped a lot.
