Peter, thanks for sending me your famtree. In it I discovered we are distant cousins through Catherine Kate Matheson, who is my great aunt. It's interesting that she had two living brothers named John Matheson, 1 b.1861, 1 b.1862, and they both married an
produced children. that caused some confusion and glitches in my efforts. Thanks for your fine work on this site. It's most excellent.

Looks good - I have a little more information on some of the people that I have on my lineage. I have a few parents that I may not have sent to you. Some of the information on a few people does not match. I am sure that Donald Gillies that was married
to Isabella Mary Morrison was born on October 17, not the month you stated. We aare pretty confident about this because my mother was born October 16, at 11:55. They were trying to stretch it out so she would have the same birthday as her grandfather.
nyway, I guess I will have to look into that. Some of the other information that I have I received directly from Bill Lawson that did a family search of the archives for us. I will send it along as soon as I can with the sources listed. I hope to have
y tree up and running this weekend on our family web page. When I get it done may I join the Isle of Lewis Ring? I will e-mail you with the details including the web page address. My husband's family has many German links. Any suggestions on where to
ook?

I'm surprised, and it's nice work done. I start my project concerning the clan of Skene but it could be interesting to have a site looking as you did. I'm not a person who like to copy but it's look like you work hard.
By the way, as you will understand my mother tongue is French so my English writing can suffer a bit.
I'm a controller but my university grade is sociologist with a minor in economics. We all know the Scots came after 1760 but with the first notes that I read, it's look like the Scots left their country by a kind of cycle of 100 years.
I know some Skene went to Virginia when the religion problem occur in the 1640. After a century, something happened and the 1830/1840 an other immigration wave.
I try to find a history book explaining partly the immigration waves if I understand those facts correctly.
I hope to e-mail from you and if you have information to share concerning other clans let me know.
Friendly!
